Missouri State Highway Patrol have not confirmed whether or not icy road conditions caused a serious automobile collision on Interstate 70 near Warrenton Missouri.  The accident happened around noon on Tuesday and involved several cars and tractor-trailers.  Westbound traffic on Interstate 70 was completely shut down for about an hour as motorists who suffered severe personal injuries were treated and removed from their cars.  One wrongful death was reported as result of this collision that involved nearly 15 cars.

The stretch of Highway 70 in between St. Louis and Kansas City is heavily traveled by both automobiles and tractor-trailers.  There are tractor-trailer accidents that happen on this span of highway on a daily basis.  When the weather is questionable, Highway 70 can become stop and go in populated areas such as Warrenton, Columbia, and Boonville.  Missouri Highway Patrol advises those traveling on this busy roadway to exercise special care when the weather turns cold.
