Two women were seriously injured in a Missouri car accident in Lafayette County. Authorities report that a Ford being driven by Earnest Taylor lost its trailer on Route O, causing the trailer to become an unavoidable obstacle in the roadway. The loose trailer crashed into a Chevy being driven by Kelly Lee of Richmond Missouri. Kelly and her 19 year-old daughter Jacey sustained serious personal injuries in the collision. Jacey was taken to Centerpoint Hospital for emergency care. Kelly Lee's injuries were life-threatening and she was flown to Centerpoint Hospital by LifeFlight EMS. No word on how the two ladies are recovering from their injuries. Missouri motorists have a strict duty to maintain control of their vehicles AND the trailers that are in tow. This means that in addition to the standard two hitch, a trailer must have a safety chain system or emergency braking system to keep it from becoming detached from the towing vehicle and causing a serious automobile accident, such as what resulted in this case. Failure to properly secure a trailer may result in liability for negligence and negligence per se. Victims of a Missouri car accident should contact an experienced personal injury attorney. Only an attorney can obtain fair compensation that injury victims are entitled to pursuant to Missouri law. If you have been injured in a car accident, visit the Schultz Legal Group injury victim website for legal advise on the handling of your claim.
A three car accident on Northbound Interstate 270 near Gravois Road in South County Missouri, seriously injuring Michael Eades. Eades, a resident of Mineral Point Missouri, was driving a Dodge Neon and forced to undertake evasive action when another large SUV, driven by Robert Haul of St. Louis, Missouri, was dirving too fast for road conditions and traveled into Eades' lane of traffic. Eades was taken by ambulance to St. Anthony's Medical Center in South County for treatment of his personal injuries. Road conditons this morning throughout the St. Louis area were cold and icy. When weather becomes dangerous, Missouri law requires motorists to slow their speed to accommodate adverse road conditions. Mr. Eades should contact a Missouri Injury Lawyer to determine whether he has a claim for personal injuries against the negligent driver involved in this particular automobile crash. If the negligent driver failed to exercise the care required by Missouri law, that driver may also be found negligent per se. Helen Henning was seriously injured in a two-car accident on Highway 30 in Jefferson County around noon today. Authorities report that a Lincoln Town Car driven by Allen Scholz pulled directly into the path of a Ford that Henning was operating. Henning was driving eastbound on Highway 30 at which time the Town Car was stopped and preparing to make a turn. Henning, a native of Fenton Missouri, sustained serious personal injuries, was ambulated and taken to St. Anthony's Medical Center for treatment. Automobile accidents are difficult to handle, and recovery from personal injuries can take both time and money. Visits to the doctor often result in lost wages and mounting medical bills. Even when the injury victim has health insurance, co-pays and deductibles remain the responsibility of the patient. Victims should contact a personal injury lawyer to obtain the advice of a person experienced with negotiating with insurance companies. Missouri Injury Lawyer Stephen Schultz was recently retained to represent the injury victim of a tractor-trailer crash near Springfield Missouri that occurred last October. The victim was a 31 year-old male who was driving home from work on Missouri Interstate 44 when he struck a tractor-trailer that was improperly parked on the side of the highway. Authorities reported that the tractor-trailer had experienced engine problems and had pulled off onto the shoulder of the highway. However, the truck was not displaying reflective triangles or flares at the time the other driver ran into the rear of the trailer. When you are injured in a tractor-trailer crash in Missouri, it is critical to contact an experienced attorney who can dispatch an investigation team to the scene where the collision occurred. Large trucking companies have their own investigation teams on staff that are quickly sent to any crash scene to gather evidence and initial an independent report. The problem is that evidence is occasionally "misplaced" by these investigation units. Without the proper evidence, injury victims may not be able to gain fair compensation for their personal injuries. Contact Missouri Tractor-trailer injury attorney Stephen Schultz toll-free at (866) 840-3636, (314) 448-0934 or by email to discuss your legal rights. 23 year-old Nicole Bennett was killed in an automobile accident on Highway 5 just north of Valley Road in Morgan County Missouri yesterday. Authorities report that Bennett was riding in a 1999 Pontiac being driven by Aaron Cutshaw of Gravois Mills Missouri. Also riding as a passenger in the same vehicle was 31 year-old William Shewmaker, who sustained serious personal injury in the car accident. The crash happened around midnight, and reportedly Cutshaw ran his vehicle off the road, where it then struck a stop sign and overturned, ejecting Nicole Bennett. The surviving family members of Nicole Bennett may have a wrongful death claim against Aaron Cutshaw for his negligent operation of a motorvehicle. Bennett's parents and loved ones shoudl consult with a Missouri Wrongful Death Attorney to determine what type of wrongful death action to claim. Death claims in Missouri are governed by the Missouri Wrongful Death Statute. William Shewmaker may also have a personal injury claim against the driver of the vehicle. Missouri State Highway Patrol closed the northbound lanes of Highway 65 today for several hours, in Springfield Missouri. The tractor-trailer crash occurred on Highway 65 in Catalpa, just as the truck was on a bridge. Missouri Department of Transportation and the Environmental Protection Agency were called to the accident scene because several hundred gallons of diesel fuel was spilled by the damaged semi-truck. Authorities are not exactly clear on what caused the semi-truck to crash, and continue to investigate the scene and collect evidence. For a closed look at this story, visit KSPR.com. Large semi-trucks weight upwards of 65,000 pounds and can cause enormous amounts of property damage. Catastrophic personal injuries and death can occur when these large trucks are involved with collisions with small cars and even large SUVs. There simply is no match for a car against a tractor-trailer. 38 year-old Gina Perkins was seriously injured in a car crash on southbound highway 141 in Jefferson County Missouri early this morning. Authorities report that Kyle Jackson of Imperial Missouri ran a red light and pulled directly into the path of Perkins' Toyota SUV, striking her car on the drivers side. The force of impact was enough to cause substantial property damage to both vehicles. Authorities are unclear what caused Kyle Jackson to disobey the traffic signal. One may suspect that the 16 year-old was inattentive or just lacked driving experience. Automobile collisions can be traumatic for those who sustain personal injury, over and above the physical injuries. Along with physical injuries often come emotional and psychological damages. A 2004 Freightliner truck being driven by Rosalie Champlin of Arkansas lost control and traveled off the roadway on Interstate 44 near Joplin Missouri. The large truck left the highway and turned over, but came to rest partially blocking the westbound lanes of Highway 44. The accident happened at approximately 4:30 a.m. on January 16. Donald and Alice Cauthren of Brighton Missouri were also driving westbound on Highway 44 and were unable to see the overturned Freightliner in time to avoid an immenent collision. The Cauthren's small Dodge pickup truck violently struck the rear of the tractor-trailer and overturned also. This tractor-trailer crash resulted in the untimely death of both Alice Cauthren and Donald Cauthren. Their bodies were transported from the scene to Thorn Hill-Dillon Funeral Home in Joplin Missouri. The Cauthrens had been happily married for quite sometime and authorities have not reported where they were coming from or heading to at the time of the collision. The Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations require that truck drivers do not operate over the hours of service, meaning that they can only drive a truck for a set number of consecutive hours before an 8 hour rest period is required. It may be too early to determine what potentially caused this truck driver to lose control of his truck, but with the right Missouri personal injury law firm, the surviving Cauthren family members may be able to get justice for this senseless loss. If you have lost a loved one due to the negligent operation of a truck driver or careless hiring practices of a commercial trucking carrier, contact Missouri tractor-trailer injury attorney Stephen Schultz and get the wrongful death lawyers at Schultz Legal Group on your side. Our lawyers will dispatch a private investigations team to the scene and make sure that vital evidence is not lost or altered.
A serious automobile collision occurred in Pulaski County this morning at approximately 8:00 a.m. near Waynesville Missouri. Rhona Gaither of Waynesville Missouri was driving her Dodge Neon South on M17 when she crossed over the centerline of traffic and collided head-on with a car being driven by Leroy Vanderhoof, of Laquey. 45 year-old Vanderhoof was rushed to Phelps County Regional Medical Center by ambulance. Vanderhoof sustained serious personal injuries, but they are not believed to be life-threatening. Four people in Rhonda Gaither's car sustained personal injuries as well. Crossing the centerline of traffic is a common cause of serious personal injury and wrongful death in Missouri. Our injury lawyers have represented countless injury victims and family members of those killed by a negligent driver who crossed the centerline and caused a head-on collision. Many times, the other driver had less that one second to react to the car crossing the centerline, which is often not enough time for the victim to take the evasive action required to avoid the collision. If you have been injured in a car accident in Pulaski County or anywhere else in Missouri, contact injury attorney Stephen Schultz and get the lawyers at Schultz Legal Group on your side. Our lawyers work out of several offices throughout the state of Missouri and can meet with injury victims in their homes, hospital rooms, or office.
Missouri Injury Lawyer Stephen Schultz has represented countless Missouri victims of negligent car and truck drivers. Mr. Schultz has coined the phrase "texting and driving" for those drivers who write and read text messages on their cellphones while they are driving a car or tractor-trailer. While Missouri has not officially made text-messaging illegal while behind the wheel, a sharp increase in texting-related automobile and tractor-trailer crashes may change the minds of lawmakers in Jefferson City. Case in fact is the upcoming 6-month anniversary of the horrific tractor-trailer crash on Interstate 64/60 in St. Louis that killed 3 and seriously injured another 12. Authorities have learned that the truck driver was distracted by his cellphone when he failed to notice the stopped traffic near Mason Road in West County. It is fairly easy for us to become distracted while driving. However, reading and writing a text message while driving at ANY speed is both dangerous and negligent. Is any text message really worth risking your life? I certainly think not. No message is that critical that it cannot wait a few minutes until you arrive at your destination or pull over. If you think another driver caused your car crash by using a cellphone, our Missouri injury lawyers will subpeona cellphone records to determine if text messages where sent or received near the time of the collision. Call me personally to discuss your injury claim at (866) 840-3636 or (314) 448-0934.
Authorities report that Frederick Ward of Columbia Missouri died late Monday evening in a two-vehicle collision on Route B at the intersection of Waco Road. Apparently Mr. Ward was approaching Route B when another vehicle being driven by a James Prior was also approaching the Route B intersection, but from the opposite direction. Prior was not able to avoid a collision with Ward and the two vehicles collided with each other. Emergency responders had to use the jaws of life to remove both Prior and Ward from their vehicles.
Authorities are still investigating the scene and evidence, as well as waiting for toxicology reports to be returned on both drivers. Alcohol and/or drugs have suspected to be involved in the cause the collision. Columbia Injury Lawyer Stephen Schultz always tells his clients that little good can happen on Missouri's roads late at night. Many of his clients have been seriously injured or even killed simply coming home from a late movie or dinner outing. The negligent driver often times has been using alcohol or drugs, even both.

The six-month anniversary of the horrible tractor-trailer crash on Highway 64 in St. Louis Missouri is coming up this week. The truck trash left three Missouri motorists dead and over 10 seriously injured. The driver of the tractor-trailer, Jeffrey Knight, was reportedly distracted by his cellphone, which authorities opine caused the serious crash. Traffic was at a dead stop when Knight's loaded truck struck the traffic like bowling pins. The crash shit down both lanes of Missouri Interstate 64/40 for several hours and crews raced to save the lives that could be saved. Of those saved, was Mark Tiburzi of St. Louis, who sustained a traumatic brain injury as a result of the collision. His car was completely ran over by the truck. The Missouri legislature and other state governing bodies have adopted new laws to prohibit the use of cellphones while operating a motor vehicle or tractor-trailer unless the driver is using a handsfree device. St. Louis tractor-trailer crash lawyer Stephen Schultz has represented injured clients who have been victimized by an inattentive truck driver. "The personal injuries that commonly result from a large truck collision such as this are often times catastrophic and permanent", says Schultz, who goes on to say "the trauma and pain and suffering sustained by the families of these victims is just incomprehesible." 19 year-old Edward Veirne was driving the family ATV (All Terrain Vehicle) in Washington Missouri when he allegedly lost control of the 4-wheeler and struck a tree head-on. 19 year-old John Carmell of St. Louis was riding on the back of the ATV when it struck the tree. Both Veirne and Carmell were thrown from the ATV upon impact. Both young men were transported to St. Johns Mercy Medical Center in St. Louis via Air Evac Lifeteam. St. John Mercy was the closest Level-1 trauma center equiped to handle the serious personal injuries sustained by Veirne and Carmell. ATV crashes can be particularly devestating, in that the occupants are not required by law to wear a helmet. Missouri victims of personal injuries sustained on an ATV commonly experience permanent trauma and hardship. Another potential concern is that the majority of ATV operaters are under age and not experienced in the enjoyment of an ATV. When younger kids are injured in an ATV crash, the victim may potentially have a cause of action against the owner(s) of the ATV for negligent entrustment or supervision. If you have been seriously injured in an ATV crash, contact St. Louis injury attorney Stephen Schultz and get Schultz Legal Group on your side. Our Missouri injury lawyers have sucessfully represented countless ATV injury victims. A 2002 Pontiac Grand Prix was left abandoned on Highway 40 in St. Charles Missouri in the early morning hours of Saturday. 21 year-old Sandra Heger of O'Fallon Missouri was driving on Highway 40 near Research Park and was unable to recognize the abandoned Pontiac in time to avoid a serious collision between Heger's 2008 Mazda and the Pontiac. 21 year-old Zachary Bolis and 20 year-old Shannon Scott, also from O'Fallon Missouri, were passengers in Heger's car. Heger, Bolis, and Scott all sustained personal injuries from the automobile collision. Sandra Heger and Shannon Scott were taken to St. Lukes Hospital for emergency treatment. Zachary Bolis was transported to St. Johns Hospital for treatment of his personal injuries. Missouri law requires that cars cannot remained abandoned on any part of the highway. Even when vehicles are involved in automobile accidents, they must be driven off to the side of roadway. Motorists are required to contact authorities and request dispatch of tow trucks. The purpose of this law is simple, it is to avoid a collision with other motorists navigating the highway. Just as was the situation in this case, other drivers aren't expecting to see abandoned vehicles in the highway. Even when motorists engage their hazard emergency flashers, they may still be found at fault for any personal injuries caused to other drivers. If you have been involved in an automobile crash with an abandoned or stopped vehicle, contact St. Louis injury lawyer Stephen Schultz. Our Missouri injury attorneys will investigate the scene and file a personal injury claim on your behalf. Don't be victimized twice by an unfair insurance adjuster, contact Schultz Legal Group today for a personal injury claim evaluation.
16 year-old Kendra Penrose was heading northbound on Highway 55 in St. Louis Missouri when authorities report that her 1996 Jeep Cherokee was cut off by an unknown motorist. The unknown motorist caused Penrose's Jeep to lose control and violently strike the median. Penrose was seriously injured and rushed to St. Anthonys Hospital off of Tesson Ferry Road for emergency medical treatment. 18 year-old Jessica Carl of St. Louis was riding as a passenger in the Jeep and also sustained serious personal injuries because the car crash. Emergency responders report that the impact of the Jeep on the highway median was severe and caused extensive damage to the car itself. Being cut-off by an inattentive or offensive driver can be deadly. The 'phantom driver' usually won't stop to assist the injury victims. Rather, the phantom driver will flee the scene unless pursued otherwise. Missouri Highway Patrol reports that this can be a common result of road rage or just plain inattention. Many car insurance companies will qualify a phantom driver as being an 'uninsured motorist'. However, this will ultimately depend upon the specific language in your policy. The difficulty in obtaining recovery will be meeting the burden of proof necessary to satisfy the condition-precedent to compensation under the insured's uninsured motorist (UM) coverage provisions. If you have been cut off by another driver and injured in Missouri, contact St. Louis automobile accident lawyer Stephen Schultz and get the experienced attorneys at Schultz Legal Group on your side. Our lawyers will advocate for fair compensation from the negligent driver's insurance policy. If they cannot be found, our injury lawyers will make the necessary claim on the victim's UM policy coverage. Visit the Schultz Legal Group Car Crash Injury Victim Website for more information.
84 year-old Ruby Harker and her 87 year-old husband Melvin Harker were involved in a head-on car crash near Shell Knob Missouri early yesterday morning. Authorities report that both Ruby and Melvin Harker sustained serious personal injuries in the car crash and were transported from the scene by ambulance to St. Johns Hospital in Berryville for emergency medical treatment. Apparently 81 year-old Edward Baker of Shell Knob Missouri pulled directly into the path of the Ford Taurus being driver by the Harkers. Baker was attempted to make a left turn at the time of the collision and pulled into the Harkers' lane of traffic. Head-on automobile crashes in Missouri often cause serious injury or wrongful death. The shear force of the impact between vehicles is catastrohpic to the body, even when drivers and occupants are wearing seatbelts and cars are equipted with airbags. If you have been seriouslly injured in an automobile collision, contact Missouri injury attorney Stephen Schultz and get the experienced lawyers at Schultz Legal Group on your side. 61 year-old Reeds Missouri resident Charles Neumeyer sustained serious personal injuries in an automobile collision in Jasper County Missouri late this afternoon. Authorities report that 16 year-old Gregory Overstreet failed to yield to Neumeyer's care, causing Neumeyer to broadside Overstreet's 1994 Pontiac. The impact caused Neumeyer's Toyota to overturn on the roadway. EMT medical responders rushed to the scene, ambulated Neumeyer, and transported him to Freeman West Hospital in Joplin Missouri for emergency treatment. Failing to yield to other drivers is both negligent and negligent per se. The Missouri statutory rules of the road are clear that drivers are to practice safe driving habits and exercise due care in the operation of thier vehicles on Missouri roadways. If you have been injured due to the negligence of another driver, contact Missouri injury lawyer Stephen Schultz and get the experience of Schultz Legal Group on your side. Authorities report that 27 year-old Therese Martensson traveled over the centerline of traffic on Northbound Route W in Jefferson County Missouri. The result was a head-on collision that seriously injured 24 year-old Chad Milton of Desoto Missouri. Milton sustained serious personal injuries and was rushed by ambulance to St. Anthony's Medical Center for emergency treatment. This head-on automobile crash resulted in serious injuries for Martensson as well, and both vehicles were completed totalled. Authorities have not commented on why Martensson crossed the centerline of traffic and caused this head-on automobile crash in Jefferson County Missouri. However, crossing the centerline is a common cause of serious collisions in the state of Missouri and is of growing concern for law enforcement and the Missouri Department of Transportation Safety Commission. St. Louis Car Accident Injury Attorney Stephen Schultz represents victims of negligent driving. The injury lawyers at Schultz Legal Group often have to pick up the pieces of an injury victim's life after when another motorist fails to exercise the care required by Missouri law in the operation of a vehicle. If you have been injured in a automobile accident, visit the Schultz Legal Group Car Crash Injury Victim Help Center for helpful advice.
Missouri Car Accident Injury Attorney Stephen Schultz recently addressed Missouri's roadway fatality statistics from 2008. Car crashes, tractor-trailer accidents, and motorcycle collisions which occur on Missouri's highways, and which result in personal injuries, are reported by the Missouri State Highway Patrol. The MSHP commonly publishes unofficial crash reports detailing the parties involved in the crash and the general nature of the personal injuries sustained by the driver and passenger. The MSHP reported 941 fatalities in 2008 related to various traffic accidents. This number of fatalities is down significantly from an all time high of 1,257 in 2005. So what can you do to make 2009 a safe year? I would recommend two things. First, always remain attentive at the wheel. Our Missouri injury lawyers commonly represent injury victims involved in car and truck crashes were the defendant crossed the centerline of traffic and caused a head-on collision. This type of impact regularly results in catastrophic injury and wrongful death. Often times if the defendant had remained attentive at the wheel, the whole sitation could have been avoided. Second, obey Missouri's statutory rules of the road. These rules are found throughout Chapter 304 of the Missouri Revised Statutes. Failing to yield and disobeying a traffic signal are common causes of serious automobile crashes and truck accidents. Failing to observe these rules of the road and exercise the due care required ny Missouri law in the operation of your vehicle can subject the at-fault driver to civil and perhaps criminal liability. If you have been injured in a Missouri automobile accident, tractor-trailer crash, or motorcycle collision visit the Schultz Legal Group Injury Victim Help Center for additional advice. Authorities reported a horrific automobile crash in Naylor Missouri past weekend. A 1999 Ford being driven by 22 year-old David Putman of Naylor Missouri crossed the centerline of traffic eastbound Missouri 142 and came directly into the path the 2005 Ford of Nicholas Lepold. 26 year-old Nicholas Lepold of Naylor Missouri sustained serious personal injuries in this crash and was flown by AirEvac to Poplar Bluff Regional Medical Center for emergency medical treatment. His injuries reportedly were catastrophic and required a Level 1 trauma center for treatment. David Putman and his two other passengers, 25 year-old Joshua Harmon and 12 year-old Casey Campbell were all killed in the crash. Crossing the centerline of traffic is a common result of inattention or driver distraction within the vehicle. Such distractions may include using a cellular phone, adjusting the radio, lighting a cigarette, or even conversing with passengers. Crossing the centerline of traffic commonly causes head-on collisons that result in serious injury and death, as was the case in this incident in Naylor. Drivers should be aware that no distraction is worth the risk associated with failing to remain attentive. If you have sustained serious personal injuries or lost a loved one due to the inattentive behavior of another motorist, contact Missouri automobile accident lawyer Stephen Schultz and get the experience of Schultz Legal Group on your side. Our Missouri injury lawyers are skilled in negotiations with insurance companies and will get the fair compensation that you are entitled pursuant to Missouri law.
A 1993 Nissan crossed the centerline of traffic on US 160 in Ozark County Missouri, causing a serious collision with a Chevy pick-up being driven by Connie Johns. 45 year-old Connie Johns of Theodosia Missouri sustained serious personal injuries and was flown by AirEvac to St. John's Medical Center in Springfield Missouri. Authorities report that the impact between the vehicles was so violent that Johns' Chevy was pushed off the roadway and caused to overturn. Authorities are not commenting on what caused 16 year-old Amy Campbell of Theodosia Missouri to allow her car to cross the centerline and caused this automobile crash. Failing to keep your vehicle under control is both negligent and potentially negligent per se. Negligence per se is a legal doctrine whereby a defendant is presumed to be at fault for causing personal injuries to another motorist due to the fact that he/she failed to observe a Missouri statutory rule of the road. This legal doctrine is used solely in a civil claim for personal injuries damages and can be an alternate form of recovery for an injury victim. If you have been injured due to another motorist's failure to obey Missouri's statutory rules of the road, contact Missouri automobile accident attorney Stephen Schultz and get the experienced injury lawyers at Schultz Legal Group on your side. Don't be tricked into an unfair settlement by the insurance companies. Our lawyers are well-respected by all insurance companies and will fight for your rights!
Authorities report that 25 year-old Adam Montgomery of St. Peters Missouri failed to stop at a red light on Route 94 in St. Charles County, causing a serious car crash with multiple serious personal injuries and one death. Montgomery was traveling Northbound on Route 94 and made a left turn onto Pralle Lane through a red light. 25 year-old Mathew Salmi of St. Charles could not avoid a collision with Montgomery's car and broadsided the vehicle in an extremely violent collision. Salmi sustained serious personal injuries and was rushed to St. Joseph's Health Center for emergency medical treatment. This crash happened at approximately 3:30 a.m. on Saturday night (sunday morning). Adam Montgomery, along with passengers Zachery Shaffer and Joseph Dixon, all sustained injuries. 22 year-old Troy Montgomery sustained catastrophic personal injuries and was transported to St. John's Medical Center in Creve Coeur. He was later pronounced dead by emergency room trauma surgeon Dr. Stanley Sakabu. Authorities are still investigating the incident to determine any other contributing causes to the collision. A police report should be completed within 14 days. This collision was severe and will forever change the lives of several families. Unfortunately, it probablu could have been averted with careful observance of traffic signals and attention to other drivers. 58 year-old Cynthia Wolff was driving the family vehicle on on Westbound I-70 in St. Charles County Missouri when she was suddenly faced with another vehicle coming into her lane without a proper signal. When she swerved to avoid the collision, her vehicle was caused to travel off of the left side of Highway I-70 and crash into a concrete median. The impact caused both Cynthia Wolff and her 54 year-old husband Harold Wolff to sustain serious personal injuries. Both persons were transported to St. Joseph's East (SSM Medical) for treatment for their personal injuries. Authorities have been unable to track down the phantom vehicle that encroached into Cynthia Wolff's lane, which ultimately caused this car crash. So what happens when a Missouri motorist swerves to avoid another vehicle, crashes, and their are personal injuries? What if authorities cannot find the car that actually caused the car to crash? The answer is tricky. If authorities cannot located the " phantom vehicle", the the injury victims may be able to make a claim on their own insurance policy, under UNinsured motorist coverage. Depending on how your insurance policy is written you may be able to actually get compensation from your own unisured motorist coverage for both personal injuries and property damage. If you have been cut off or swerved to avoid another phantom vehicle and sustained personal injuries as a result, contact St. Louis automobile accident injury lawyer Stephen Schultz and get the experienced lawyers at Schultz Legal Group on your side. Our injury lawyers are skilled at negotiating with insurance companies when the claim involves a phantom vehicle. Call today for a personal case consultation.
37 year-old Mary Jackson of Raymore Missouri was seriously injured when another vehicle ran a stop sign and broad-sided her vehicle. Authorities report that Harvey Bowling of Blue Springs Missouri failed to stop at a posted stop sign at US 50 and Route F in Jackson County Missouri, traveling directly into the path of Jackson's car and causing this automobile crash. Jackson was unable to swerve or avoid the collision and as a result there was a violent impact between the two vehicles. Mary Jackson sustained serious personal injuries and was transported to Centerpoint Hospital by Lone Jack EMS for emergency medical treatment. Disobeying a posted stop sign is both illegal and negligent. Even when other vehicles are not in sight, failure to stop properly can have devastating effects. Posted stop signs that are unobstructed offer no excuse for the negligent driver who wilfully chooses to disobey them. As was the case in this crash, serious personal injuries often result from a motorist's failure to stop. In addition, criminal charges may be faced by the negligent driver. In this particular case, authorities are still investigating the circumstances of the crash and citations are pending. Early this morning at around 6:00 a.m., Demarcus Patton of Malden Missouri reportedly fell asleep while driving his 2003 Ford with several passengers inside. The automobile accident occurred on US 62 and was caused to run off the highway and flip over. The crash caused several passengers inside of Patton's Ford to sustain serious personal injuries. Those injured included 23 year-old Philip Mosley, 23 year-old Detri Reed and 22 year-old Christopher Wilson. Mosley apparently sustained the most severe injuries and was taken from the accident scene to Missouri Southern Healthcare in Dexter Missouri for treatment. Luckily all occupants were wearing seat belts. In Missouri when passengers in a automobile crash sustain personal injuries, those injury victims may receive compensation from three potential insurance companies of interest. Those may include the companies that insure the driver of the car they were in, another driver (if another motorist caused the collison), and even their own personal automobile insurance company. When a driver falls asleep at the wheel and causes personal injury to the passengers in his/her own car, that driver's insurance company will be potentially liable for compensation to the injured occupants. Forms of recovery may include compensation for medical bills, pain & suffering, lost wages, potential future lost wages, and potential future medical care costs.
