Authorities and emergency personnel responded to a serious head-on car crash on Missouri 52 in Miller County today.  Janie Murphy of Eldon Missouri crossed the centerline of Missouri Highway 52 and crashed head-on into a Chevy SUV being driven by David Aguilar.  27 year-old Aguilar and three other passengers were seriously injured in the car crash.  Davina Aguilar, Georgina Custard, and Anan Patel sustained serious personal injuries in the head-on crash.  David Aguilar was flown to University Hospital in Columbia Missouri, along with Anan Patel.  Davina Aguilar and Georgina Custard were transported to Lake Regional Hospital in Osage Beach for emergency treatment.

This accident happened in broad daylight on a calm and clear day.  There were no natural contributing circumstances to this head-on crash that were identified by authorities.  Crossing the centerline of traffic is a common cause of catastrophic injury and death on Missouri's roads and highways.  Drifting into the lane of oncoming traffic is commonly a result of inattention inside the vehicle and more times that not is easily preventable by exercising the care required by Missouri law in the operation of a motor vehicle.
