Authorities report that 40 year-old Darin Vrieze crossed the center line of traffic on Route H in Mount Vernon Missouri and caused a serious head-on car crash.  Vrieze's car struck a Ford sedan being driven by 49 year-old Teresa Dion, who sustained catastrophic personal injuries and ended up dying at the scene of the collision.  He body was taken to Lakin Funeral Home in Pierce City Missouri.

The investigation into this incident remains ongoing, as family members are left with little answers as to what caused Vrieze to cross the center line of traffic and violently collide into Dion's Ford sedan.  Common causes of crossing the center line on a non-divided highway include: driver inattention and distraction by a cellphone or passenger.  Drivers are encouraged, expecially on non-divided highways, to maintain strict attention on the roadway ahead to avoid a catastrophic head-on collision.
