When Involved in a Car Accident it is Important to Pull Off the Road

Some may say it is common sense.  Others may not even know that in Missouri it is the law.  Missouri Revised Statute 304.151 requires every motorist in Missouri to not obstruct traffic.  Even when you are involved in a Missouri car accident, if there are no serious personal injuries, you are required by Missouri law to move the vehicles off of the road so not to hold up traffic.  Violation of this Missouri statute is punishable by a cash fine.  Missouri also requires motorists to activate their emergency flashers in the event that their car becomes incompacitated in a car accident.

Missouri Revised Statute 304.014 requires "every person operating or driving a vehicle upon the highways of this state to observe and comply with the Rules of Road."   Those rules require Missouri motorists to use reasonable care in the operation of their vehicle so not to injure persons or destroy property.  The penalties for violating these Rules of Road include both criminal and civil actions.

If you feel that someone failed to observe the Rules of the Road and caused a car accident, tractor-trailer crash, or motorcycle accident, contact a Missouri Accident & Injury Lawyer and get the advice of an experienced attorney.  Free consultations are hard to come by in today's legal market.  However, a compassionate Missouri injury lawyer at Schultz Legal Group will always be willing to take time to answer questions about your specific claim.
